Craziness of a Break

I made it through my first semester of seminary and I had one week off to celebrate before returning to the books for a summer language class - Greek.  Here is the tale of the week off.....

On Friday we drove to Waco (making a pit stop in Austin to turn in my last final).  We had a wonderful dinner with Story, Graham and Cambell.  We had so much fun catching up with the Cooks and playing our favorite game, Hand 'n Foot.  I can't believe how big Cambell has grown, she is such a doll!  We miss spending time with Cambell and her parents!!

For the weekend with stayed with Nannie and Jim.  It was so much fun getting to spend time with them again.  Since we moved to Kyle, I have only visited Waco for "Spice" runs.  It was nice to stay and spend quality time with friends and family.  Roxie enjoyed her visit from Judge.  While Judge also enjoyed the visit, I think he was happy to hit the road on an unexpected run to Houston.

Sunday afternoon, after church with Nannie & Jim, we meet the Haynes for dinner.  It was so much fun to see the family again.  I was so blessed to have them in my lives for a year.  I miss the kids and everyone so much.  Unfortunately there was so much going on I didn't get any pictures.  But, I can't believe how much they have grown.  It makes me sad to think Hudson and Avery Anne will be starting Kindergarten this year and little Sawyer is already writing his name.

After lunch we headed back to Nannie and Jim's.  Upon arriving  I got a phone call from a frantic brother, "It's time."  He called to tell me Regina was going into labor they were headed to the hospital.  Five minutes later Brent and I were saying our goodbyes and heading out of Waco early on our way to Houston.

When we arrived in Houston, Bryant and Regina were on their way out of the hospital.  While she was having contractions, she wasn't quite ready for labor yet and the doctor sent her home.  Long story short, we spent the night walking around the outside of a mall (see picture below) trying to encourage baby Thomas to hurry along and finally headed back home the next morning.  Since then we have been sitting around waiting for the exciting call...

After a week of reading, painting crosses, and cleaning house, my grandmother, Teresa, came over and we had  day of card-making!  I absolutely love sitting and making cards with her.  We don't get to do it often, but we always love it when we get the chance.  On Friday morning I headed to Scudder Elementary to attend an awards ceremony for Amber on her last day of school.  She racked in a stack of awards but I was most proud of the one below - Straight A honor roll for every 6 weeks period!!  Way to go, Amber!!

After the awards ceremony Amber, Mom, and I headed out for some errands.  Or course, errands are never complete without a crazy trip to Target.  Amber and I had a blast trying on "crazy" sunglasses.

After our crazy run to Target, Amber and I headed home to make brownies for our "special" visitor - Michelle!!  We were so excited to have dinner with Michelle and visit with her.  It had been too long!!!

Today we sit, still waiting for the call from Bryant and Regina.  If she hasn't gone into labor by tomorrow, the doctor will induce.  I am just hoping I get to go before Monday and classes start back again.  I guess I am secretly praying that my craziness of a break isn't over yet.
